Ukrainian economy is demonstrating resilience

Four years after the start of Russia’s war of aggression, Ukraine continues to face massive pressure. Energy and industrial infrastructure are being deliberately targeted. The strain is immense.

At the same time, the Ukrainian population – as well as the economy – is demonstrating impressive resilience. Cooperation with the European Union is also deepening. The Guardian reports on growing EU–Ukraine partnerships and closer economic ties.

Energy and clean tech are key areas of engagement. Concrete cooperation is emerging in renewables, grid integration, storage solutions and industrial partnerships.

An important step was the synchronization of Ukraine’s electricity grid with the European interconnected system. This enables electricity trade with the EU and strengthens technical integration – all of this is taking place under continued attacks on energy infrastructure.

This is not only strategically relevant for Ukraine, but also for the EU. Ukraine’s integration into the EU’s energy and economic framework is part of a long-term stability architecture in Europe.
