The irony of energy politics:

Of all people, US President Trump and his administration may end up giving electric mobility a boost.

The attack on Iran is driving up oil prices – and with them fuel prices. This is not only happening in the United States, but also in Europe and other parts of the world.

And suddenly many more people are showing interest in electric cars. All this at a moment when, according to a recent analysis by Transport & Environment, EVs are becoming economically attractive for many consumers for the first time.

Higher fuel prices could now accelerate this “tipping point”. Energy crises have often helped new technologies break through.
