Better to adapt to the consequences than tackle the causes of global warming?

Better to adapt to the consequences than tackle the causes of global warming? "Instead of prioritising climate protection, we should instead focus on adapting to the consequences of climate change" - a narrow majority of respondents in our survey agrees with this statement.
The current flooding in southern Germany, for example, makes this assessment very comprehensible. We can no longer avoid adapting to the consequences of climate change. And this will become even more important the hotter it gets.
But here, too, it is important to do one thing without neglecting the other. In order to mitigate the risks of global warming and thus keep the costs of adaptation in check, measures to contain the rise in temperature are just as important. Because every one-tenth less counts. This is emphasised by the high level of fear among our respondents of an increase in extreme weather events as a result of climate change.
Here are more interesting results to our study.
